Payment

I accept all major credit and debit cards, HSA and FSA cards, cash, or check. I keep a credit or debit card on file through a secure payment system called Ivy Pay. I charge for sessions, missed appointments, late cancellations, or no shows via the card on file. Payment is required at the time of service.

Cancellation Policy

Please notify me at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel your appointment. The time that we agree to meet is set aside and reserved for you. If you provide less than 24-hours' notice, you will be charged the full fee for your missed appointment. However, I will waive one missed session per calendar year & I will waive the fee if we are able to reschedule your appointment that week. However, I will not always have an unfilled opening, so it is important to try to stick to the allotted time reserved for you. If you do not show up for your scheduled appointment or you have not notified me at least 24 hours in advance (besides the exceptions above), you will be responsible for the full session fee.

Schedule a Free Phone Consultation

I offer a 20-minute phone consultation at no cost to you. We can explore what you are looking for in therapy, I will discuss my background and approach, and we'll decide if it feels right to move forward together. This is a good time to ask any questions, discuss therapy goals, and get a general feeling for how we work together.

Insurance

I do not directly take insurance at this time. I am considered an out-of-network provider with most insurance companies. Some insurance plans provide a reimbursement for out-of-network providers, in which I can provide a monthly statement/receipt (“superbill”) for you to submit to your insurance. You will still need to pay for sessions out-of-pocket and I cannot guarantee that you will be reimbursed by your insurance company. I strongly suggest that you contact your insurance provider to clarify the extent of benefits provided by your insurance so there are no scary surprises.

Steps to Find Out if Your Insurance Provider Will Reimburse You

Call the number on the back of your insurance card (or on their website) and check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:

  1. Do I have mental health benefits through my insurance provider?

  2. If yes, are out-of-network benefits included?

  3. What is my deductible and has it been met?

  4. If out-of-network benefits are covered, is there a portion that is covered or is it fully covered?

  5. Do I need pre-approval prior to obtaining out-of-network services?

  6. How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?

  7. How much will be reimbursed for these codes: 90791, 90837?

  8. Where do I submit the superbill for reimbursement?
